My Second Home Daycare Policies
General Policies
All children should bring a full change of clothes and an extra sweater or sweatshirt with the on the first day of care. These items should be clearly labeled with the child’s name and will be kept at the program.
A bathing suit should be left at the program in the summer and a hat and mittens in the winter.
Potty-training or recently potty-trained children should leave two additional pairs of underwear and pants at the program.
Children in diapers must provide at least two weeks supply of diapers and wipes.
Children requiring formula, jarred baby food, or special foods due to medical conditions must provide at least two weeks supply of the items. Four baby bottles must also provided for formula-fed babies.
Supplies provided by My Second Home Daycare include nutritious lunches, snacks, and beverages, sunscreen, towels, changing pads, sleeping mats, blankets, art supplies, and toys. Please leave personal items and toys at home unless prior approval is granted.
Fees and Payment
A non-refundable deposit equal to two weeks' tuition must be paid to hold a spot. This deposit covers the tuition for the first and last week of the child's care.
Tuition for the week is due on Monday morning.
All children are charged for the full week regardless of actual attendance.
In the event that the program must close due to provider illness or emergency, the equal percentage of the week’s tuition will be refunded.
There is a $35 fee for returned checks. The owed tuition and fee must be paid in cash. If two checks are returned in any six-month period, tuition must be paid in cash from that time forward.
Late pick-ups will be charged at a rate of $5 per 15 minutes late. The late fee must be paid before the child attends daycare the next day.
There are two scheduled vacation weeks a year. No tuition is charged during there weeks.
The provider may close the program for two paid sick/personal days a year. As much notice as possible will be given on these occasions.
Reminders will be givens to parents when new personal supplies are needed for the child (i.e. diapers, wipes, formula). If supplies run out after two notices have been given there will be a $5 fee for use of program supplies. The fee is due and the supplies must be replenished before the child can attend daycare the next day.
Three weeks notice or tuition must be given before removing a child from the program.
Vacation and Holidays
The program is closed for New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday, Christmas Eve Day, and Christmas Day. The program closes at noon on the day before Thanksgiving. Full tuition is charged for each week regardless of holidays.
The program is closed for two weeks each year, usually for one week around Christmas and one week in the summer. At least six weeks notice will be given before these vacations. Tuition is not charged during these weeks.
Regular tuition applies during family vacations in order to hold the child’s slot in the program.
Sick Children
To prevent the spread of illness, sick children should be kept at home. Children who have had diarrhea, vomiting, or fevers may not return these symptoms have been gone for 48 hours. Children with strep throat or conjunctivitis (pink-eye) may not return until they have been on an antibiotic for 48 hours.
Child Pick-Ups
Each parent must fill out and sign a permission form listing the people authorized to pick up the child. My Second Home Daycare will only release the child to the specified people, unless the parent writes a note granting permission to another adult. This note must be given to the provider by the parent in person. Adults unfamiliar to the caregiver will be asked to present identification.
Clothing
Meals
Lunch and two snacks are provided each day. Meals are designed to be well-rounded and introduce the children to healthy foods and the principles of good nutrition. My Second Home Daycare participates in the federal food program.
Infant formula is not provided and should be supplied by the parent.
The child care agreement may be terminated by either the parent or the caregiver at any time. Three weeks notice must be given by either party, except where the child poses a significant threat to the other children in the provider’s care. If proper notice is not given by a parent terminating care, the equivalent of three weeks tuition is required.
Tuition Rates
The current full-time rates for My Second Home Daycare are as follows:
Children 8-18 months: $180/week or $40/day
18 months and up: $160/week or $35/day
Family Discount: -$25 / week for each additional child after the first
